JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police shot a teenager and arrested another suspect while investigating a car theft inside a rental car return area at Jacksonville International Airport in Florida.
The shooting happened Wednesday afternoon. Police tried to stop the vehicle after tracking it to the parking garage at the airport. When they tried to stop it, the driver rammed two police vehicles and another car.
The Florida Times-Union reports an officer shot at the car as it drove away. Police found the vehicle in an apartment complex and arrested a 27-year-old and the 17-year-old, who was shot in the ankle. Police didn't release their names and say they are still looking for a third suspect.
There were not many bystanders in the garage. But police say they fired shots because public safety was at risk.
