President Barack Obama will visit the Richmond area Wednesday to push for tax cuts for the middle class.

Obama is taking his series of backyard talks to Richmond, Albuquerque, N.M., and Des Moines, Iowa, this week as part of a campaign swing weeks before the midterm elections.
In Richmond, Obama's staff says he will talk about the debate in Congress over the tax cuts and what effect they would have on the national deficit.
Obama and Democratic leaders want to extend the George W. Bush-era tax cuts for individuals making less than $200,000 and married couples making less than $250,000 — at a cost of $3 trillion over 10 years. Republicans want to extend all the tax cuts, which would cost about $4 trillion over a decade.
Details of Obama's visit have not yet been made public.
