Misurata

of

Location: About 120 miles east of Tripoli, on the Mediterranean coast.

Status: Opposition controlled.

Protests reached Libya’s third-largest city on Feb. 20, according to reports, and the opposition had taken over the town by Feb. 24. On Monday a government helicopter attempted to destroy the radio antenna of the station, but was thwarted by residents that showered it with gunfire.
