Congresswoman Shea-Porter lost to Republican challenger Frank Guinta, a former mayor of Manchester, N.H., and a former state representative, by more than 10 percentage points.

She served two terms, coming to office in one of the biggest upsets of the 2006 election. In that race for the First District seat, she defeated Republican Jeb Bradley, who outspent her by more than 3 to 1.
