NASA space shuttle: Coming to a city near you?

As the space shuttle program draws to a close, NASA names the four cities that will house Atlantis, Discovery, Endeavour, and Enterprise.

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden announced Tuesday at Kennedy Space Center where four retiring space shuttles will be permanently displayed at the conclusion of the shuttle program.

The hometown crowd cheered when Mr. Bolden announced that space shuttle Atlantis would spend retirement where it has launched 32 times.

“The workers who sent it into space so many times have a chance to still see it,” Bolden said.

Atlantis will close out the space shuttle era in June, when its final flight is scheduled and the shuttle program will then be discontinued.
