Latest News Wires Obama signs law to block Iran's U.N. ambassador

Amid US-Iran nuclear negotiations, President Barack Obama signed legislation aimed at blocking Hamid Aboutalebi, Iran's chosen ambassador to the U.N., from entering the US. Aboutalebi was allegedly involved in the 1979 Iran hostage crisis, in which 52 Americans were held for 444 days.

President Barack Obama has signed legislation aimed at blocking Iran's chosen ambassador to the United Nations because of his ties to the 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. But the president says he's only treating the legislation as guidance.
