Elle Magazine Reports that For the past few weeks, the U.S. Women's National Hockey Team and their governing body, USA Hockey, have been in negotiations over fair pay and treatment. The women's team has threatened not to play the IIHF World Championships if USA Hockey doesn't provide a living wage and more support for programs for young girls, similar to what they provide the men's team. Senators Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Dianne Feinstein, and more released a statement urging USA Hockey to meet the women's team's demands, writing "As Senators committed to gender equity in all realms of American life, we write to express our serious concern with allegations raised by members of the U.S. Women's National Hockey Team regarding USA Hockey's inequitable allocation of resources to the women's hockey program and unjust treatment of national team members."
