Summer Airfares Will Average 5.7% Lower Than Last Year, Study Predicts

Airfare prices are down in the U.S. so far this year, and are likely to stay that way for the summer travel season. Prices decreased an average of 9.4% in March compared to the year prior, depending on the origin and destination airport, according to airfare forecasting website Hopper.
