We now have official confirmation of what all PS3 owners knew anyway: there is going to be an Uncharted 3.

It will be called Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and covers the following story arc:

In his search for the fabled “Atlantis of the Sands,” Nathan Drake and longtime friend and mentor Victor Sullivan set off on a daring trek into the heart of the Arabian Desert. But when terrible secrets of this lost city are uncovered, their journey becomes a desperate bid for survival that will force Drake to confront his deepest fears.

Multiplayer and co-op will again join the single-player campaign set in some of the best environments ever seen in a console game. The other big addition for this third game is support for stereoscopic 3D visuals.

There’s no word on a release date yet, but the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly goes on sale tomorrow with a load of exclusive extra detail.
