3. Replace a light bulb

Would you hire a handyman to change a light bulb in your home? Replacing one in your car could be just as easy. Open the hood or the trunk and remove the dead bulb from the back of the light assembly. Compare the new bulb with the old one before you replace it. Unlike your standard home light bulb, you will need to buy a replacement bulb from an auto parts store.

Easy Factor: If you can replace a light bulb in your house, you can do this! To remove and install a bulb, just push-in and twist.

Tip: Wear a latex glove when handling the bulb to prevent oils from your skin contacting the glass and reducing the life of the bulb.

Tool Factor: A screwdriver may be necessary to remove a lens.

Time Factor: Less than 10 minutes.
