Nestlé issued a Raisinets recall for fun-size bags with a production code beginning with 02015748. In the US, the candy was sold exclusively at Target, Shop Rite, and Don Quixote stores.

Talk about bad timing. With just days to go before Halloween, Nestlé USA has recalled its 10-ounce fun-size bags of Raisinets.

Some packages of the chocolate-covered raisins may contain peanuts, which aren't declared on the label.

"Nestlé is taking this action out of an abundance of caution" for persons who may have an allergic reaction to the nuts, the US division of the Swiss food giant said in a release.

Not all Raisinets are being recalled. Only the 10-ounce bags with a production code starting with 02015748. The code is printed on one side of the bag. (See the photo above. You can also look for the UPC code 2800010255.)

In the US, the bags were sold exclusively to Target, Shop Rite, and Don Quixote retail stores.

Nestlé is urging consumers who are allergic to peanuts not to consume the candy and instead throw it away and contact the company at 800-478-5670 for a full refund. Operators are available between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Three complaints have been received to date, according to the company. Consumers with questions can also e-mail Nestlé at nestlecandy@casupport.com.
