Fascinated by reviews of the new movie "The Eagle," I decided to explore the plot myself so I am reading the first (1954) in Rosemary Sutcliff's trilogy The Eagle of the Ninth about the the legendary Ninth Roman Legion which went missing on an invasion of English Caledonia in AD 117. Now, no need to see the commercialized movie but only to read the next two books in the trilogy!
