Reader recommendation: Drood
Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.
I am reading Drood by Dan Simmons. It is written in the voice of Wilkie Collins (the author of "Moonstone" and "Woman in White" among others). The novel is about Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins' relationship. It starts with a train accident, where a character named Drood makes his first appearance. The story eventually takes the reader to the possible murder of a young man that Dickens saved at the accident. So far I am liking it. I chose the book because I have read both Wilkie and Dickens.
