Eaarth by Bill McKibben is compelling but scary reading. His thesis is that Earth has now become Eaarth, not the same planet on which our parents grew up – the era of cheap oil and unlimited growth is over. He suggests ways of decentralizing our economy to lessen the impact of climate change which is now irreversible.
