Driftless

By Larry Sears, El Paso, Tex. / November 23, 2009

Last fall I read a glowing review of Driftless by David Rhodes in the Monitor.  I added it to my "to read" list.  And I am so glad that I did. It is a gentle, warm, and engaging novel about the people of Words, Wisconsin.  Written very much in the mode of  "Spoon River," author Rhodes lets us share in the amazing lives of unforgettable people.  A terrific read.
