Red Knife
Red Knife by William Kent Krueger. The author has a great sense of place. This series takes place near an Indian reservation in Minnesota. Cork O’Connor is part Ojibwe, a “fired” cop, and currently a P.I. Murder, a drug cartel, and a family in turmoil result in a climatic ending that makes this the most compelling book in this series.
