Reader recommendation: War and the Soul

Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.

of

Ed Tick works with the most harmed. His book War and the Soul allows an intimate understanding of the toil of war. He also places "war" in the context of history, including brief interludes from biblical accounts as well as Greek accounts by Homer. The book is hauntingly beautiful and the next time you see a vet you just may cry as you more fully realize the sacrifice.
