Ben Franklin: Unplugged: .... And Other Comic Monologues, by Josh Kornbluth
(Read by Josh Kornbluth; Audible, Inc.; 5 hours and 47 minutes)
When Josh Kornbluth realizes he looks like Ben Franklin, he sets off on a series of acting adventures that became an audiobook that is part history, part humor, part autobiography, and completely entertaining.
The subjects of the monologues run the gamut from true love to Kornbluth's struggle to complete his thesis for Princeton to the way that Andy Warhol stimulated Kornbluth's interest in his Jewish roots. Though Kornbluth curses occasionally, this is mostly clean humor.
Kornbluth's delivery is as self-deprecating as are his stories about trying – and failing – to deal with the mundane, even while coping with the baggage of his quirky, Communistic relatives (who unfortunately sound all too similar.)
Kornbluth gives us a fun, and funny, look at life.
