Davy, a German Shepherd who – despite her name – is a girl, has worked as an explosives detection dog as well as a patrol dog with army staff sergeant, Marcus Bates. Davy sleeps on Bates' cot and is small for a German shepherd, but her size lets her get up over walls made of mud that are often obstacles for Bates and his comrades.
