Sing Singapore's praises: It's No. 1 again in 'globalization'

For the second straight year, small but mighty Singapore has emerged as the world's most globalized country in a study conducted by Foreign Policy magazine in conjunction with Chicago-based A.T. Kearney, one of the world's largest management consulting firms. The Globalization Index measures 12 variables under four separate headings: economic integration, technological connectivity, person-to-person contact, and political engagement. Singapore rates high in the latter two areas, while the US is a technological leader with the highest number of Internet hosts and secure servers per capita. The 10 most globalized countries, according to the index:

1. Singapore
2. Switzerland
3. US
4. Ireland
5. Denmark
6. Canada
7. Netherlands
8. Australia
