FIRMS TRY TO IMPROVE WORK ENVIRONMENT

Seventy-five percent of facility managers said that they do not allow smoking at all or only in designated areas, according to a report by the International Facility Management Association.

Of 1,800 facility managers surveyed, 51 percent of them said that they were also addressing employee dissatisfaction with video-display terminals. The managers use a variety of solutions such as swivel chairs (90 percent) and detachable keyboards (60 percent) to alleviate employee health concerns and reduce legal liability.
