This Season's Winning Plays

THE fourth-season grants of the Fund for New American plays being announced today go to: Eureka Theatre Company and Brava! for Women in the Arts (joint submission, San Francisco), Suzanne Bennett, artistic director, and Debra Ballinger, executive director (both of Eurkeka), and Ellen Gavin, artistic director (of Brava!), for ``Shadow of a Man,'' written by Cherrie Moraga. Opens November 1990. Grant: $22,700 (theaters), $10,000 (playwright).

Lincoln Center Theater (New York), Gregory Mosher, director, Bernard Gersten, executive producer, for ``Mule Bone,'' written by Langston Hughes and Zora Neale Hurston. Opens January 1991. Grant: $50,000.

Home for Contemporary Theatre (New York), Randy Rollison, artistic director, for ``A Walk on Lake Erie,'' written by Heather McCutchen. Opens February 1991. Grant: $20,350 (theater), $10,000 (playwright.)

The Pasadena Playhouse (Pasadena, Calif.), Susan Dietz, artistic director, for ``Rug Merchants of Chaos,'' written by Ronald Ribman. Opens March 1991. Grant: $37,500 (theater), $10,000 (playwright.)

Salt Lake Acting Company (Salt Lake City, Utah), Edward Gryska, producing artistic director, for ``White Money,'' written by Julie Jensen. Opens March 1991. Grant: $20,000 (theater), $10,000 (playwright).

Intiman Theatre Company (Seattle, Wash.), Elizabeth Huddle, artistic director, for ``The Kentucky Cycle,'' written by Robert Schenkkan. Opens May 1991. Grant: $125,000 (theater), $10,000 (playwright).

Circle Repertory Theatre (New York), Tanya Berezin, artistic director, for ``Babylon Gardens,'' written by Timothy Mason. Opens October 1991. Grant: $32,000 (theater), $10,000 (playwright).

Eureka Theatre Company, (San Francisco), Suzanne Bennett, artistic director and Debra Ballinger, executive director, for ``Millenium Approaches,'' Part I of ``Angels in America,'' written by Tony Kushner. Opens May 1991. Grant: $65,000 (theater), $10,000 (playwright).

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre (New York), Tisa Chang, artistic director, for ``Lucky Come Hawaii,'' written by Jon Shirota. Opens October 1990. Grant: $40,000 (theater), $10,000 (playwright).
