New Miss America is Sharlene Wells of Utah
Miss Utah, Sharlene Wells of Salt Lake City, was chosen Saturday night to be the new Miss America. The first runner-up was Melissa Bradley of Ohio. Miss Wells, is a member of the Mormon church who is majoring in communications at Brigham Young University. She plans graduate study in business administration, plus further study in voice and piano. In the talent portion of the weeklong competition, she sang and played the harp.
