Postal workers to stay on job during new contract talks

Backing off threats to stage the second nationwide illegal mail strike in US history, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the American Postal Workers Union have voted not to remain on the job while contract disputes are settled with the US Postal Service.

The first and only nationwide strike by postal workers occurred in 1970.
