Arafat warned by jets in air, rebels on land

Israeli jets flew over Yasser Arafat's besieged army Wednesday and Syrian-backed Palestinian rebels warned him to leave Lebanon in seven days or risk another attack.

The overflights followed Tuesday's naval bombardment by Israeli gunboats on positions held by Mr. Arafat's 4,000-man force. Despite the Nov. 25 cease-fire agreement with the rebels, an Arafat spokesman reported a 30-minute clash Wednesday with the dissidents around Tripoli.
