US plans to ease limits on pension management

The Labor Department will propose dropping most restrictions on pension plan investments in cases where managers have more than $500 million in assets to supervise.

The proposal marks the broadest effort so far by the Reagan administration to reduce regulation under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, Labor Secretary Raymond Donovan said.
