Oil, gas industry may set record for campaign gifts

Congressional candidates could receive more money during this fall's campaign than ever before from oil and gas industry sources - over $6 million - according to a consumer-labor group study.
The Citizen-Labor Energy Coalition found political action committees backed by oil and gas companies, executives, and investors have already given more than times as much to Republican candidates as to Democrats. But, it said, the leading recipients in Senate and House races are Texas Democrats.
