The black prince

The black prince gazes At the gray-green door As the purple twilight fills The little round window. The moon, a silver sliver, Is caught in the boughs Of a bare black tree.

Impatiently he paces: Importunately he demands. At last She Whom He Commands Opens the door And the black prince glides On velvet paws Into the cool Silence of dusk.
