De Lorean auto company cuts hours, seeks credit

John Z. De Lorean has proved that a former auto executive can start up his own car company.

But now, his Northern Ireland-based sports car company, hitting a stretch of rough road, has started a three-day workweek in an effort to help its cash flow problems.

Production of the sophisticated stainless steel-body sports car has been pruned and the company is negotiating with Britain for a $6O million credit guarantee to ease its financial problems.
