Cranston to explore 1984 presidential run

Sen. Alan Cranston (D) of California is testing the waters for a swim in the 1984 presidential race. He announced Wednesday that a committee will be formed this month to explore the possibilities.

Senator Cranston told the Los Angeles Times that he has not definitely decided to run, but would like to run if he is convinced it would not be unrealistic.
