9 former Miami detectives indicted on drug charges
Miami — Nine former Dade County (Miami) detectives, free on $50,000 bond each, must report to the FBI almost daily until their trial on charges of stealing over $ 400,000 in drugs and money from murder scenes and using their jobs to help Miami's drug trade flourish. A federal grand jury handed down a 40-cent indictment against the former investigators. Justice Department spokesmen said the nine conspired to use their jobs for racketeering. They were allegedly involved in bribery, extortion, narcotics trafficking, and taking bribes of mone y, gifts, and cocaine.
