Prince Edward Island seal slaughter canceled

Canada has canceled the annual slaughter of seal pups on Prince Edward Island because of "sloppy and wasteful hunting" that included skinning the animals before they lost consciousness. The Canadian federal department of fisheries, which has jurisdiction over the seal hunting, canceled the land h unt late Monday in the Prince Edward Island area.
