Japanese automakers to spell out trade policies

Tokyo

Japan's leading automatkers -- Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Toyo Kogyo, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, and Fuji Heavy Industries -- have agreed to clarify their policies on imports and exports at a public hearing to be called by the US International Trade Commission. The group also decided to strengthen a public campaign in the United States in support of Japanese-vehicle import policies, including cuts in import duties on cars and auto parts.
