Bern — When Swiss telephone subscribers begin dialing direct to the Soviet Union on July 1 they should have no trouble remembering the code. Just dial 007. A spokesman for the Swiss postal administration announced the new service Monday and said any connectin to Ian Fleming's famous screen spy, James Bond, was unintentional.
"It's just one of those thigs -- 7 was the next number free," the spokesman said.
By adding three more digits to the basic code, it will be possible to dial numbers directly in five Russian cities -- Moscow, Minsk, Leningrad, Kiev, and Tallinn.
