Iranian eases hostage terms

Iran no longer insists on the Shah's return or an international tribunal to judge him before returning the American hostages, Iranian President-elect Abolhassan Bani-Sadr indicated to an ABC News "Issues and Answers" television panel in Tehran. The United States could solve the problem "tomorrow" by a statement regretting past policies toward Iran, promising to respect Iranian independence, and agreeing to cooperate in returning the exiled Shah's wealth to Iran, Mr. Bani-Sadr said.

Meanwhile in Tehran, militant students occupying the US Embassy have called off a mass march they had planned for Monday to demonstrate the support they claim to have in the capital.
