Warda, a Yazidi woman, and her four children – Hadiya (8) , Fadi (6), Shadi (3), and a 3-month-old girl who was born in Islamic State captivity and so far has no name – in the Sharia displaced persons camp, near Dohuk, Iraq, Sept. 16, 2015. Warda, her husband, and their children were taken prisoner when IS attacked their village on Sinjar Mountain. Warda's husband cut Hadiya's hair short like a boy's, because IS fighters were taking girls her age as sex slaves. She’s had no news of him since they were separated by fighters in May. Warda and the children escaped and were reunited with family members just three days before this photograph was taken.
