How do I subscribe to the Monitor Daily?

New Monitor Daily subscribers can subscribe here for $11 a month with an option for a discounted annual payment of $110. On that same page, you can subscribe to a bundle of the Monitor Daily along with the Monitor Weekly, our weekly print magazine, for $15 a month or for a discounted annual payment of $150. Annual subscribers can cancel at any time and receive a refund of their unused subscription balance by emailing

What do I get with my subscription to the Monitor Daily?

You’ll get the Monitor Daily email delivered to your inbox each weekday evening, Eastern Time, as well as access to more news content, special series, video and audio features, plus stories from our archive. It’s all available free of third-party advertising via any web browser on desktop, laptop, or mobile device. In each Daily edition, editors explain — briefly and directly — why the day's five stories matter to you. An audio button adds the convenience of listening to an overview of each edition read by our editors. As a subscriber, you’ll also hear from us about special online events, podcasts, and Facebook live events.

Yes, all current subscribers to the weekly print magazine now have unlimited, ad-free access to If you have given us an email address, you’ll start receiving the Monitor Daily – five handpicked stories delivered to your inbox each weekday evening, including our editors’ commentary on why we wrote each story plus an audio summary of the newsletter. If you prefer to view these on a web browser, you can access them at

Will I be charged extra for this new digital access to the Monitor?

No. Your current subscription price will not change for this additional access. Rate changes in the future would take place during your renewal period, and you will always be alerted at least 30 days prior to any increase. 

But when I go to now, I'm still asked to subscribe to the Daily? What should I do?

If you are a Weekly subscriber but have not yet signed up for digital access, you can register at this link. Once on that page, enter your email. We’ll send you an email verifying your account. Once you have set up your username and password, you can use them to log in anytime you see a login prompt. If you switch browsers or change devices, for example, you’ll need to log in again. 

If I don't want digital access, can I get a reduced subscription price?


I'm currently a Monitor Daily subscriber. Will I have to switch to the new bundled product?

No, current Monitor Daily subscribers may remain digital-only subscribers with no change in their current subscription price.

I'm currently a Monitor Daily subscriber and would like to be part of the new Monitor subscription bundle. What will be my new subscription price and how do I upgrade?

Email us at or call 617-450-2300 and we’ll be happy to change your subscription. We will cancel your current Monitor Daily subscription and refund any unused portion. We will then begin a new bundled subscription for either the $15 monthly payment or the discounted $150 annual payment. 

How do new subscribers get the bundle that includes both the Monitor Weekly print magazine and the Monitor Daily?

Go to our subscription page where you'll find an offer for a bundled subscription for $15 a month or for an annual discounted payment of $150. You'll get immediate access to the digital Monitor Daily and to Allow 4-6 weeks to receive your first print issue.

What do I get for my bundled subscription to the Monitor?

You get everything described for the Monitor Daily above, including the Monitor Daily email and unlimited access to free of third-party advertising. Your bundled subscription also provides you delivery of the print edition of The Christian Science Monitor Weekly. The Weekly is produced 48 times a year. You also receive access to a digital PDF version of the Weekly, which you can download and view on your computer or tablet. 

I'm a subscriber, but I'm still not receiving the Monitor Daily email. What can I do?

Your Monitor Daily emails should arrive by 6:15 pm Eastern time, Monday through Friday. Some email programs try to filter out emails that they suspect may be spam. In order to make sure you receive the email, we advise going to our web page that describes how to “whitelist” the Monitor Daily so it can get through these spam filters. Additionally, please see the next FAQ if you're a gmail user. If you’re still having trouble, you can email or call our customer service team. Why isn't my Daily email in my gmail inbox?

Gmail now has a tabbed inbox, and some subscribers have found that our messages are landing in the "Promotions" tab. If you have a tabbed inbox, please check that tab to see whether our messages are being directed there. You can also check spam.

I don't want to receive the Daily email. Is there a way to be excluded from this?

Yes, simply click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the Daily (or any other Monitor email that you no longer wish to receive). This will end your email delivery but won’t affect your print magazine delivery if you are a bundled subscriber. You can also still access at any time. If you have any issues, email us at or call 617-450-2300 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time.

How do I download the PDF version of the Monitor Weekly magazine that is included with my subscription?

I’m a student. Does the Monitor have an academic discount?

Yes. Visit and get the first 30 days free, then pay only $4/month or $40/year. You must have an email account with an email address that ends with an .edu domain in order to register for this student-only offer.

I want to cancel my subscription. What do I do?

While we’re sad to see you end your subscription, you may cancel at any time. If you have a monthly subscription, you’ll receive the Monitor Daily or Weekly through the end of your monthly subscription, but you will not be charged for any additional months. If you have an annual subscription, you will receive a refund for the balance of your paid subscription. To cancel your Daily subscription, email us at or call 617-450-2300 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time. To cancel your Weekly subscription email us at or call 800-456-2220.

I’m having trouble with my Monitor Weekly delivery.

Are you a new subscriber?

Your first delivery of the Monitor Weekly should arrive 4-6 weeks after you order your subscription. If you don’t receive your magazine by then, email us at or call 800-456-2220. In the meantime, your PDF download should be available anytime at

Are you an existing subscriber?

Since the Monitor is sent by regular mail, we are unable to guarantee a specific delivery date each week. Delays may sometimes occur, but you should receive your issues during the week of the date of issue. Issues are not considered late until the Monday following the date of issue. At that time, please email us at or call 800-456-2220. And we'll be happy to issue a replacement or extend your subscription for the missed issue.

Are Nook and Kindle versions of the Monitor different from a direct subscription to the Monitor Daily or Weekly?

The Nook and Kindle versions of the Monitor Daily include six to eight stories available each weekday, but there are no photos, video, or audio features available. Your Nook or Kindle subscription also doesn't provide you free access to
