First Look Merkel, Putin will discuss Trump worries at meeting

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet Saturday to discuss worries about President Trump's foreign relations strategy as well as Syria's civil war, the conflict in Ukraine, and a gas pipeline – criticized by Mr. Trump as Russian control over Germany.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russia's President Vladimir Putin will have plenty to talk about when they meet Saturday – thanks in no small part to President Trump, whose sanctions and criticisms over trade, energy, and NATO have created new worries for both leaders.
