Fani Willis and Scott McAfee win elections. Two key players in the Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump have successfully defeated challengers. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee both won in the May 21 election. Ms. Willis is the prosecutor who last year obtained a sprawling racketeering indictment against Mr. Trump and 18 others. Mr. McAfee is the judge who was randomly assigned to preside over the case. Ms. Willis beat progressive attorney Christian Wise Smith in the Democratic primary. Mr. McAfee won a nonpartisan contest.

In Georgia, details of a district attorney’s relationship with a prosecutor she hired sparked calls for her to step aside. The situation complicates a high-stakes lawsuit against Donald Trump.
