Uzodinma Iweala’s novel 'Beasts of No Nation' will reportedly be adapted as a film
'True Detective' helmer Cary Fukunaga is said to be on board to direct with actor Idris Elba expected to star in the film.
“Beasts of No Nation” was published in 2005 and follows an African boy named Agu who becomes a child soldier. Barnes & Noble called the book “a horrifying portrait of war” and wrote that “Agu’s narration casts a harrowing spell.”
Now Fukunaga, director of the acclaimed HBO series “True Detective,” is on board to direct, according to IndieWire, and “Luther” actor Idris Elba is said to be starring as the commander of Agu’s military group.
