1. 'Beartown,' by Fredrik Backman

"A Man Called Ove" writer Backman's new novel is the story of a junior hockey team in struggling Beartown. When a semi-final hockey game is the cause of violence, the results change the town. "It's got great characters, it's got an author who can definitely weave a tale," Schluep says of the novel.
