Samantha is the Monitor's senior multimedia reporter. Previously, she led the innovative storytelling efforts as Story Team Leader, focusing specifically on the recently launched Monitor Daily. She produces the audio version of the Daily, creates new audio content, and works to further develop the Monitor's audio and multimedia offerings. She produces – and occasionally hosts – the Monitor's podcasts, including Perception Gaps, Rethinking the News, and Tulsa Rising.
Samantha joined the Monitor in January 2015 as a Social First intern, then continued to grow into Social Media Coordinator and eventually Social Media Editor. Before joining the Monitor, she worked as a reporter for Boston.com, covering the local art, entertainment, and culture beat for the sister site of The Boston Globe. A Minnesota-native, she received her B.A. in English at North Dakota State University, then moved to Boston to receive her M.A. in Journalism at Northeastern University in 2012.
Samantha loves to learn, innovate, and explore the world, and does so through writing, traveling, and eating great food. She currently resides in Medford, Massachusetts.
