Former President of Uganda, Idi Amin

Like Tunisia's Ben Ali, former Ugandan dictator, Idi Amin settled in Saudi Arabia for a life of exile. Numbers vary widely, but an estimate by several exile organizations put the number of people killed during Mr. Amin's regime at 500,000. His brutality lost him most of his allegiances, and when the country went to war with Tanzania in the late 1970s, Amin was forced to flee. After a brief time in Libya, he settled in Saudi Arabia. He attempted to return to Uganda once, but was turned back en route. He died in Saudi Arabia in 2003.
