For nondrinkers, these colleges offer an alternative

While beer seems to flow like bath water on some college campuses, where partying and drinking go hand in hand, there are schools that if not totally "dry" at least keep alcohol consumption to a minimum. The Princeton Review, a company that offers college-bound students test-prep courses and tutoring but also ranks colleges in a number of categories, has released a list of "stone cold sober schools." The results are based on a survey of 120,000 college students. The top "sober" schools, as rated by The Princeton Review, with their locations:

  • 1. Brigham Young University (Provo, Utah)
  • 2. Wheaton College (Wheaton, Ill.)
  • 3. US Coast Guard Academy (New London, Conn.)
  • 4. College of the Ozarks (Point Lookout, Mo.)
  • 5. Grove City College (Grove City, Pa.)
  • 6. US Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, Colo.)
  • 7. US Naval Academy (Annapolis, Md.)
  • 8. Wellesley College (Wellesley, Mass.)
  • 9. Thomas Aquinas College (Santa Paula, Calif.)
  • 10. Calvin College (Grand Rapids, Mich.)
