Arizona beat: (12) Memphis, 77-75; (4) Texas, 70-69
Duke beat: (16) Hampton, 87-45; (8) Michigan, 73-71
Winner plays: winner of (3) UConn vs. (2) San Diego State

Arizona has been making a habit of nail-biters, winning its first two tournament games by a combined three points. Sophomore forward Derrick Williams is one rebound shy of averaging a double-double for the tournament, and his authoritative block in the closing seconds against Memphis sealed the second-round win for the Wildcats.

After a 42-point blowout of Hampton in the first round, Duke received an unexpected scare from No. 8 seed Michigan. Despite a below-average 3-point shooting performance (5-20, 25 percent) against the Wolverines, the Blue Devils won with their deadly consistency from the field (25-49, 51 percent) and the free throw line (18-25, 72 percent).
