Free agent pitcher Cliff Lee met with his last team, the Texas Rangers, Thursday night at his home in Arkansas. Reports indicate the American League champs have offered a package that has a 'menu of multiple offers,' according to Rangers CEO Chuck Greenberg.
The New York Yankees initially proposed a six-year deal to Lee, then added a seventh year. The package is reportedly worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $160 million.
The Rangers brass said they're not looking for a response right away, though there are indications the lefthander could make up his mind this weekend. Another report has the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim putting out a feeler to Lee's representatives.
