Senate's 16 new members arrive on Capitol Hill: Who are they?

Starting this Monday, the Senate welcomes 16 fresh faces to the Capitol’s marbled halls.

Republican Marco Rubio defeated Independent candidate Charlie Crist in the open race for Republican George LeMieux’s seat. Mr. Rubio most recently served as speaker of the Florida House of Representatives. This election received national attention when former President Bill Clinton reportedly asked the Democratic nominee, Kendrick Meek, to step out of the race in favor of Mr. Crist. Mr. Meek finished third, 9.6 percentage points behind Crist. Rubio received support from tea party groups.
