Martin Scorcese and Leonardo DiCaprio return to our list with 2006's "The Departed."
Rounding out the cast in the undercover police drama are local boys Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg, who are joined by Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, and Alec Baldwin.
"The Departed" may seem all-Boston, all the time, but is actually a remake of a Hong Kong crime drama with characters based on events and individuals including notorious South Boston crime kingpin James "Whitey" Bulger.
The film drips with Boston-area references. Locals (and tourists) will recognize scenes shot on Boston's waterfront and Beacon Hill, and at the MBTA Park Street and South Station Red Line stops.
"The Departed" brought in about $132.4 million.
