This Western just beat out "Butch and Sundance" as the Monitor readers' favorite. Directed by Pollack, shot in Utah, and starring Redford as a Mexican War veteran and Rocky Mountain trapper, the film is based on the real-life story of mountain man "Liver-Eating" Johnson. Wisely, the filmmakers opted to change the title characters first name to something more palatable.
