Reader recommendation: My Thoughts Be Bloody

Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.

I’m thoroughly enjoying My Thoughts Be Bloody, by Nora Titone, about the Booth family and especially the actor Edwin Booth, who was the greatest star of the 19th-century stage. His brother John Wilkes was a second-rate performer but in the end literally upstaged his brother by assassinating Lincoln.
